Kadampa Meditation Centre Birmingham was established by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso in the 1990s to provide people in Birmingham and the surrounding areas with the opportunity to learn how to meditate and practice Buddha’s teachings. To fulfil this aim we opened a new Contemporary Temple in the City Centre in January 2016, a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of Birmingham. The centre is located in the newly developed and thriving ‘West Side’ area of the City Centre, right next door to the iconic ‘Mailbox’ and ‘The Cube’ and only 10 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street station.

We offer meditation classes at a variety of different times and different locations. They are open to everyone, regardless of beliefs of background and simply share tried and tested methods to calm the mind and develop a more positive attitude. Many people benefit from our classes and although they share Buddhist wisdom and meditation, many people from different faiths and of no fixed belief find benefit from attending. Whether you simple want a short 30 minute meditation session, want to learn more about methods and techniques for transforming your mind, or wish to fully embrace the Buddhist path, we have something for you.  The centre is fully disabled accessible.

Feedback from a Regular Attender:

“Everyone needs a bit of calm in the busy world we live in, and this is the place you will find it. You can go to a class, course or just pop in for a cup of tea. My favourite place in the city centre ”
