HEALING DEPRESSION

with Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Leksang

Saturday 6th April – 10.30am – 1pm

Depression is a very common problem which can affect any of us at any time. When we’re suffering from depression we can feel deeply unhappy about our life, isolated and alone; we can feel powerless to escape from the painful feelings in our mind.

On this course, we will explore practical methods to deal with depression, using insights from Buddhist teachings to understand its causes and to learn how to overcome it by developing and maintaining inner peace and mental strength. In this way we can find a happy and meaningful life

Suitable for beginners and everyone welcome.  The half day course consists of two one hour sessions (10:30-11:30am & 12-1pm) which include guided meditations and a talk on the topic.  There is a half hour break in the middle for refreshments.  You are welcome to arrive from 9:45am for pre-course refreshments and to stay after the course also to relax in the centre.

Gen Kelsang Leksang is a dedicated disciple of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. She has been studying and teaching for over fifteen years and was appointed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche as the Resident Teacher at KMC Birmingham in 2008. She is loved for her gentle and joyful approach and her sincere example.
