with principal teacher Gen Kelsang Leksang

Sunday 11th March – 11am – 4pm

Join us for a day retreat in Birmingham on Sunday 11th March. On this day, you will have the opportunity to experience a real rest by developing a peaceful mind.

Our lives are usually so busy and our minds can be so active. Sometimes we can feel that we are like a hamster on a wheel and rarely take time to simply enjoy some mental peace and contentment.

On this day retreat we will learn how we can slow our minds down and access our own inner source of peace and happiness through meditation and mindfulness. The retreat will provide a precious opportunity to stop and reflect on our life and explore how we can cultivate an inner source of protection or refuge within our mind – a place where we can go, when things get tough, that nobody or nothing can take away from us.

‘The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort and so we will experience true happiness and relaxation. But if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy and relaxed even if we are living in the very best conditions. If we train in meditation, our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we will experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually, we will be able to stay happy and positive all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances’.
Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

By engaging in a day’s retreat, we will be giving our minds a real break so that we can then return to our lives feeling refreshed a more positive, and ready to face life’s challenges.
