About the course

Do you find your peace of mind is constantly being eroded by pain, anxiety and frustration? Do your difficult emotions drive you to engage in bad habits? Are difficult emotions adversely affecting the quality of your life?

Life brings many challenges and unexpected situations and we can easily react with painful feelings of stress, worry, anxiety and frustration. These painful emotions can be difficult to deal with and can significantly impact the quality of our life.

We all need to learn helpful strategies to enable us to be able to sit with and face painful emotions with courage, objectivity and confidence. Buddha’s teachings explain simple yet powerful methods to enable us to deal with difficult emotions. By doing this, we will be less likely to try to escape from pain using unhelpful habits.

Through combining meditation and practical Buddhist wisdom we can strengthen our ability to face life’s challenges and the painful emotions they can trigger, positively and constructively.  In doing so, we can become stronger and less fearful of the future and any challenges we may face.

In these classes, Gen Leksang will explain how you can learn to deal with painful emotions in a way that enables us to respond to them in a peaceful and constructive way.

Everybody is welcome to come and learn these simple techniques to start to manage and even accept difficult emotions.

The course will be based on the book ‘How to Solve our Human Problems’. This book is available to purchase for those who wish to study further at home.

On this course, you will learn the following:

  • How to become more accepting of painful emotions
  • How to develop mental space and the power to let pain go
  • How to grow stronger and wiser through our difficult emotions
  • How to train to become fearless in the face of life’s challenges.

The course will run in Birmingham City Centre on Sundays and Tuesdays as well as in Solihull on Mondays and Sutton Coldfield on Thursdays.

You can drop in week by week or book for the whole course.
