with Scott Ellis
SATURDAY 6 MAY
10.30 – 1.30PM
On this day course we will explore how to use different methods and techniques to overcome stress. Stress is a part of the mind, so if we learn to deal with the mind, recognise the symptoms of stress building up, then we can remain calm in any situation. We can look at methods such as placing a block of wood at the heart. This is a very good meditation to do daily- it enables us to get those few moments of space in our mind before the situation gets out of hand and we become angry, allowing us to look realistically at the situation and respond in a calm, beneficial manner.
Patience is a big part of training the mind and also allows us a lot of time to think things through rather than thundering in like a storm. We may have a n unpleasant feeling in our mind, but this feeling cannot hurt us, only if we allow it to, just like a thunder storm cannot hurt the sky. Scott will help us gain more understanding of how to train in this, by explaining the methods from the book, How to solve our Human Problems. We can learn to laugh at how our mind makes such an exageration of situations and so enable us to be more light about them, then we too can jump out of bed with joy, when not burdened with the heaviness of exageration!
