Life is so full of challenges and difficulties and it can leave us feeling worn out, deflated and stressed. We tend to seek protection from life’s difficulties in things outside of ourself. However, relying upon people and things for our sense of security and self-worth doesn’t really work. It  leaves us feeling anxious that we might lose them and they also bring with them unwanted complications not to mention pain and frustration when they let us down. We need to develop an inner strength and resilience that can can protect us and cannot let us down but actually gets stronger when life gets tough.
This series of classes will explain how we can build inner strength and happiness in our own mind through meditation and mindfulness using tried and tested methods taught by Buddha. We will discover how meditation provides true nourishment and protection for our mind.

MEDITATION classes for everyone
ENJOY calming guided meditations and learn reliable methods to make your mind clear and positive and thereby transform your life.

In each class a different aspect of meditation and Buddhism is explained. The classes are self-contained so you can drop in any week. There is no need to book or bring anything. Classes begin with a simple guided breathing meditation followed by a teaching and a second guided meditation based on the topic.

‘Every living being has the same basic wish – to be happy and avoid suffering. Even newborn babies, animals and insects have this wish. It has been our main wish since beginningless time and it is with us all the time, even during our sleep. We spend our whole life working hard to fulfil this wish.

Since this world evolved, human beings have spent almost all their time and energy improving external conditions in their search for happiness and a solution to their problems. What has been the result? Instead of their wishes being fulfilled, human suffering and problems have continued to increase while the experience of happiness and peace is decreasing. This clearly shows that until now we have not found a correct method for reducing our problems and increasing happiness.

The actual correct method for doing this is changing our attitude from negative to positive. We must understand this through our own experience’.
