SURFING LIFE’S PROBLEMS

with resident teacher Kelsang Lhasang

Saturday 10th August , 10.30 – 1pm

£13 for advanced booking or £15 on the day. Free to members and benefactors

Suitable or beginners

When things are difficult for us, we often let them get us down and we fall into the mindset that bad things are continually ‘just happening’ to us.  We are often overcome by our feelings which make our situation even worse and leave us emotionally drained.

In this half-day course learn how to turn this attitude around and take everything that happens to us as an opportunity to increase and strengthen our good qualities of mind. By gaining experience of meditation and applying of Buddhist principles for transforming adversity in daily life, we can solve many of our problems and experience the joy and happiness we desire. If we have this view and see our life as a training ground for our mind, we rise above our conditions and become fearless, life long learners.

Suitable for beginners and everyone welcome.  The half day course consists of two one hour sessions (10:30-11:30am & 12-1pm) which include guided meditations and a talk on the topic.  There is a half hour break in the middle for refreshments.  You are welcome to arrive from 9:45am for pre-course refreshments and to stay after the course also to relax in the centre.

Kelsang Lhasang was appointed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche as the Resident Teacher of KMC Birmingham.  She is a dedicated disciple, and has been studying  and practising  meditation and Modern Kadampa Buddhism for over ten years.  She has taught both in the UK and Australia.  She has successfully completed the six month Intensive Resident Teacher Training Course at Manjushri KMC.  She is well known for her sincere good heart, working to enable people to solve their daily problems
