with Resident Teacher Kelsang Lhasang

Saturday 15th June, 10.30am to 1pm

Suitable for beginners

Death is an inevitable part of life. Everyone knows it, but often we ignore it and shy away from the fact. When  people around us die, or we have a health scare, we are forced to face up to it.  How comforting it would be to know we could face our own death confidently and peacefully.  How meaningful it would be if we could help those who are dying and even those who have died.  On this half-day course we will learn profound techniques to help the dying and deceased and prepare for our own death.

We are delighted to also offer an optional session in the afternoon in which we will actually engage in a traditional Buddhist ritual practice called ‘Powa’. This practice is one of the kindest things we can do for ourself and for others. Everyone is welcome to come to one or both events.

Suitable for beginners and everyone welcome.  The half day course consists of two one hour sessions (10:30-11:30am & 12-1pm) which include guided meditations and a talk on the topic.  There is a half hour break in the middle for refreshments.  You are welcome to arrive from 9:45am for pre-course refreshments and to stay after the course also to relax in the centre.

Kelsang Lhasang was appointed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche as the Resident Teacher of KMC Birmingham.  She is a dedicated disciple, and has been studying  and practising  meditation and Modern Kadampa Buddhism for over ten years.  She has taught both in the UK and Australia.  She has successfully completed the six month Intensive Resident Teacher Training Course at Manjushri KMC.  She is well known for her sincere good heart, working to enable people to solve their daily problems.£13 advance booking or £15 on the day.
