This 4 week meditation course will explain everything you need to know to develop an effective meditation practice. 

Each class includes practical advice from Buddhist wisdom and guided meditations. 

It is great for beginners as well as those with experience. On this course, you will learn the following:  

  •  Learn how calm and uplift your mind 
  • Become familiar with peaceful and positive outlooks on life. 
  • Develop a clearer and more focused mind by improving your concentration. 
  • How to carry your meditation experience into the day by training in mindfulness

Each class includes guided meditations and simple, tried and tested techniques for reducing the causes of stress, low mood and frustration.

About the course 

Are you tired of worry, anxiety and other disturbing habits of mind? Would you like to develop the freedom to just say no to painful emotions and develop some peace of mind?  

If the answer to these questions are yes, you are definitely not alone. These experiences are common for as long as we have an uncontrolled and busy mind. 

By training in meditation you will develop an inner space and clarity that enables you to begin to control your mind. You will learn how to recognise and let go of mental habit patterns that disturb your mind. Meditation is a tool by which you can deeply familiarise your mind with more constructive mental attitudes that will gradually heal the causes of your anxiety, stress and other disturbing thoughts. 

On this 4 week course you will learn how to meditate. How to develop a powerful meditation practice that not only calms the mind but actually transforms your mind – and the way you experience everything. This course will teach you everything you need to know to begin, develop or deepen your meditation practice. 

We can all learn how to develop a meditation practice – in the midst of daily busy life that will facilitate the development of uplifting and positive mental attitudes and help us to become the person we want to be.

The course is available in the following venues:

  • Birmingham City Centre – Sundays 11am, Tuesdays (lunchtime and evening) or try a short drop in lunchtime class (wednesday-Friday)
  • Solihull – Mondays 7pm
  • Sutton Coldfield – Thursdays 7.30pm
  • Stirchley – Mondays 7pm
  • Wolverhampton – Fridays 6.30pm

The teachers 

The classes are all taught by qualified Kadampa teachers with many years of experience of training under the guidance of the acomplished meditation master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

The Birmingham City Centre, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield classes are taught by Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Leksang. A Buddhist nun and teacher with over 20 years experience of teaching.

The Wolverhampton class is taught by Buddhist nun Kelsang Deden.

The Stirchley class is taught by Kadampa teachers Betsy and Nick Hero.
