This Too Shall Pass – A Meditation Day Course
Developing Inner Strength and Resilience through the Wisdom of Impermanence

With Gen Kelsang Norden
Saturday 18th October | 10am – 3.30pm
Kadampa Meditation Centre Birmingham

When life becomes challenging or uncertain, we often feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or stuck. But through the profound wisdom of Buddha’s teachings on impermanence, we can discover a new way of seeing our difficulties—one that brings clarity, courage, and inner peace.

On this inspiring day course, senior Buddhist teacher and ordained nun Gen Kelsang Norden will guide us through meditations and teachings that open our heart to the liberating truth: everything changes. With this perspective, we begin to understand that pain and problems are not permanent, and that we are not defined by our current circumstances.

By contemplating impermanence, the reality of death, and the vast potential of our countless future lives, we begin to let go of fear, worry, and emotional heaviness. In their place, we discover strength, patience, and a deep sense of meaning and purpose.

During this day course, you will learn:

  • How to use the awareness of impermanence to remain calm and balanced in the face of change and difficulties

  • How awareness of our own mortality helps us to really let go and live

  • How a broader view of life and future lives helps us rise above stress and setbacks

  • Simple meditations that build genuine inner strength and resilience

The course includes guided meditations, practical teachings, and time for quiet reflection, with breaks for refreshments and  lunch. Everyone is welcome—no previous experience of meditation or Buddhism is necessary.

“By contemplating the fleeting nature of all things, we discover what truly matters and awaken the power to change our world from within.” – Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
