We all want to be happy and to help others. We can place unrealistic expectations upon ourselves and end up feeling discouraged and exhausted when we don’t achieve them. We can learn that it is far from selfish to take time to care for ourself, in particular for our own mind, in fact, it is the kindest thing we can do for ourself and others. Through adjusting our view of ourself and others we learn to encourage ourselves rather than discouraging ourselves so that we can relax, grow and make the most of our life.

‘Coping with Lockdown’

Everyone is experiencing various challenges as a result of this current lockdown. Sometimes we may feel overwhelmed, sometimes worried and sometimes frustrated or depressed. On this course, we will take a practical look at Buddha’s teachings of the ‘Four Noble Truths’. This incredible advice for life enables us to get perspective on the difficulties we are facing and to see this as an opportunity to re-assess our basic approach to life and to develop a better game plan. We will look at look at some reliable practices taught by Buddha that we can all engage in, moment by moment, in order to feel more resilient, optimistic and calm.

Anxiety and worry are not healthy or useful. However, most of us know that it’s not easy to just wish them away. Fortunately, there are simple and effective methods you can learn to reduce and eventually overcome these debilitating problems.

In this half-day workshop, you will discover what you need to do to prevent the build-up of harmful thoughts that create these negative emotions. By applying some relatively simple meditation techniques, you will find relief from these sometimes crippling habits of mind and learn how to become more relaxed and confident in your life.
