About the course 

Do you feel disatisfied with life and feel that there must be a better way?  

By training in meditation, we can learn to develop happiness from within. We can learn to gain the freedom over our thoughts and diagnose our mental pain and stress. We can learn to become deeply familiar with happy, balanced and positive states of mind that we can rely upon for our happiness and turn to for solice, in the midst of busy, every day life. 

This course will explore a commentary to the Buddhist text by Geshe Langi Tangpa – Eight Verses of Training the Mind – written by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso – The New Eight Steps to Happiness. 

We will be exploring this text in this class over the coming weeks and month. Each class/course is self-contained so you can drop in any time.

The teacher 

The teacher of this class is Gen Kelsang Leksang, she has been an ordained Buddhist nun for 17 years. she has been studying under the guidance of the meditation master venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 20 years and was first appointed as resident teacher at KMC Birmingham in 2007.  

Appreciated for her caring and positive manner, she has the ability to inspire people to improve their own lives by showing how Buddha’s teaching are relevant to the experiences of modern day people.
