Our silent day retreat offers an opportunity to find the pause button for a day and relax.

This day consists of three 1 hour sessions with advice for calming the mind and guided meditations. During the breaks there is time to relax and reflect in our beautiful, spacious and peaceful centre.

Feeling anxious and overwhelmed? Take a day to switch off.
 
This silent day retreat at our tranquil meditation centre in Birmingham City Centre is designed to help you calm anxiety, find fresh perspective, and reconnect with your inner calm.

Our Silent day retreats provide the perfect opportunity to take a break from it all. The days consist of three 1 hour sessions – containing advice for a happy life and guided meditations.

On this retreat the emphasis will be on letting go of anxiety through engaging in calming meditations and finding balanced perspectives.

The sessions will be guided by our Resident Teacher, Kelsang Lhasang and suitable for beginners as well as those with experience.

Refreshments and a light vegetarian lunch of prepared sandwiches will be provided.

Participants are encouraged to take a break and switch their phones off for the day to make way for the development of a peaceful mind.

This retreat is suitable for people new to meditation as well as those with experience.

 

The teacher

The teacher of this class is Kelsang Lhasang. She is a Kadampa Buddhist nun, ordained in 2016. She has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism and meditation since 2009.

Known for her sincere good heart, Lhasang shares Buddha’s teachings with warmth and enthusiasm.

The Schedule

Session 1: 10 – 11am
Break 11 – 11.45am
Session 2: 11.45am – 12.45pm
Lunch: 12.45 – 2pm
Session 3: 2pm – 3pm

  • £30 advance booking (£35 on the door) 
  • £5 for members attending in person

We are a registered charity, so every penny from our courses and memberships helps us keep things running and allows us to share practical methods for developing inner peace across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

If you want to experience some peace and calm I really recommend this centre. Everyone is made to feel welcome and there is something for all, from drop in classes, to weekly in depth study classes and Saturday courses.

First visit, silent retreat, very welcoming, inspiring and insightful.
