Enjoy a weekend away in the countryside. Relaxing meditation retreat with Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Leksang, Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Birmingham. The venue for our August retreat is the magnificent Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Centre near York.

Refund minus £30 admin fee until 18th August 2022. After this date unfortunately we cannot issue refunds unless we are able to re-sell the accommodation. If this is the case, then a refund minus £30 admin fee will be processed.

This relaxing weekend is an informal balance of meditations, practical teachings and time to rest and relax. It is an opportunity for those new to meditation to learn how to find inner peace and to cope with our busy everyday lives. And a chance for those with more experience to deepen their experience of meditation and Buddha’s teachings.

Historic Kilnwick Percy Hall is a stunning Grade 2* listed building set within 47 acres of grounds with woodland walks, parkland and a lake. It is located just outside Pocklington, near York.
The Hall has been the home to Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Centre for 30 years and is a relaxing place of peace and tranquility to rest and reflect. It was the first centre established by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and is a very blessed and peaceful place.
The centre offers a variety of comfortable accommodation options, a world peace café serving delicious cakes and drinks and beautiful peaceful grounds to explore.
About the Teacher
Gen Kelsang Leksang is an ordained Buddhist nun who has been studying and teaching under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for 20 years. She was first appointed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso as Resident Teacher of KMC Birmingham in 2007. Known for her kind and joyful approach she is able to clearly communicate and show through her sincere example, the relevance of Buddha’s teachings to modern-day life.
Accommodation – See options above. Visitors staying in dormitory accommodation should bring their own sleeping bag and towel. Visitors in single and double / twin rooms have bedding, towels and toiletries provided.
Meals – Meals will be vegetarian unless you request a vegan option. Allergies: Please note – we cannot guarantee there will be no traces of gluten, dairy, nuts, etc in the food.
Parking – There is plenty of free parking on site.
Cafe – The World Peace Cafe is open daily.
