Come and learn how to make your own mala.

Mala is the name that Buddhists give to a special set of prayer beads, made in a traditional way, that we then use to count mantras.

The course will include practical advice, supervision and an opportunity to make your own mala.

Feeling creative? Would you like to learn how to make your own mala (prayer beads)?

Enjoy a peaceful Saturday morning with us, where we’ll explore this traditional art by making your own 108-bead mala to take home with you.

We will begin with a brief explanation of how to use a Buddhist mala in conjunction with mantra recitation to improve your peace of mind, compassion and wisdom.

This will be followed by a practical hands-on workshop where you can make your own mala (Beads and craft equipment provided).

Please choose when booking the category of beads to use when making your mala. We will be in touch nearer the time to confirm if you have a specific choice from this category before we place the order for materials.

Please note, bookings from the 6th July onwards will only be able to choose from avaiable bead choices on the day.

Category 1 beads – £5: natural wood, natural greywood, palmwood, rosewood, robles wood

Category 2 beads – £10: opalite, cherry quartz, rose quartz, carnelian, black onyx, aventurine (blue), howlite, ambronite, red jasper

Category 3 beads – £15: tigereye, sodalite, agate, amethyst, flourite, lapis lazuli
